FAQ

Does the app support more than one starter?

Yes. Separate starter dashboards, logs, reminders, and archival behavior are built into the app.

Can I recover my journal after reinstalling?

Sourdough Journal includes backup and restore tools, but recovery requires a usable backup. Reinstalling the app does not recreate a lost journal. Save a backup outside the app before reinstalling, keep the original file until a restore succeeds, and contact support before replacing a device copy that still has your data.

Check a formula before changing it

Include the flour and water supplied by your starter when comparing total hydration. Our hydration calculator and worked baker’s-percentage example use that convention. When asking about a result, include the ingredient weights and starter hydration, rather than a private journal export.

Before contacting support

Include your app version, device model, operating-system version, what you tried, and any error text. A description is usually enough to start; do not send private app records, passwords, or a full backup. Keep a copy of your data before reinstalling or restoring.
